Colorless Heart

The unsettling idea of future mistakes, future heartbreaks
Half cut cakes with unsatisfying tastes
Yet I want nothing but to cut myself a piece
And join in the misery of finding love and peace
As the silence of your heart speaks…so loud to me
Blue is the color I’ll use for love
So open and wide, like the sky above
I’ll Grab my paint brush and draw words that fill you up
Until I run out of supply and figure that I must
Replace the color of love for the color of lust, which never seems to blend with the color of trust
It just…seems to outline the shape of my heart
Leaving the insides empty and full of colorless art
Because even when trying to mix the colors of you and I
I attempt to use permanent markers, but they always die
before I can color in the spots of never apart
